The Human Relations Director is involved in improving the working and living environment for the citizens of Emporia. The Director works with a commission of nine volunteers from the community (Human Relations Commission) to resolve conflicts and investigate discrimination complaints involving employment, housing and public accommodations. The Director manages the Neighborhood Revitalization Program which provides tax credits for property improvements in older neighborhoods. If you have questions about your employment, public accommodation or housing situation the Director will try to assist you. She provides information to both employers and employees.
